Pure Water San Diego

Pure Water San Diego is the City of San Diego's phased, multi-year program that will provide one-third of San Diego's water supply locally by 2035. The Pure Water Program will use proven water purification technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water. The program offers a cost-effective investment for San Diego's water needs and will provide a reliable, sustainable water supply.

Advanced Water Purification East County

The Advanced Water Purification Program will create a new, local, sustainable and drought proof drinking water supply using state-of-the-art technology to purify East County’s recycled water. This water recycling opportunity would diversify East County’s water supply and reduce our dependence on imported water. If the program moves forward, it will meet approximately 25-30 percent of East County’s current drinking water demands.

San Diego County Water Authority

The San Diego County Water Authority’s mission is to provide a safe and reliable supply of water to its member agencies serving the San Diego region. When formed on June 9, 1944, the Water Authority initially served nine member agencies. The Water Authority now has 24 member agencies in San Diego County. View the member agencies here.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a regional wholesaler that delivers water to 26 member public agencies – 14 cities, 11 municipal water districts, one county water authority – which in turn provides water to more than 19 million people in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Metropolitan is governed by a 38-member board of directors who represent their respective member agencies ensuring each member agency is part of the governance of Metropolitan.

LAFCO website provides a comprehensive list and maps of the San Diego region's water, irrigation, public utility and sanitation districts.

North San Diego Water Reuse Coalition

Northern San Diego County water and wastewater agencies are collaborating on a plan to connect the region – taking inventory of where there is a supply of wastewater and a demand for recycled water for irrigation, industrial, or potable uses. By working together, these agencies are demonstrating a commitment to provide a reliable, drought-proof source of water for the region and reduce discharge of wastewater to the ocean.
